Classroom Implications
Comic books and comic strips may be one way to encourage reluctant readers and writers.

Creating a comic strip and then a comic book may be one way to scaffold narrative writing tasks for students who struggle with developing or controlling the plot in their writing. Comics may also be a way for students to respond to something they've read using the SCAMPER process for creative brainstorming.

There is research to suggest comics are a teaching tool when working with ESL students.

Home and School Connection
Upon return from a field trip, students could create a comic about what they learned to share with their parents.
